YES, ONE BILLION
KIDS CAN CODE

Y.E.S. 1.000.000.000 KIDS CAN C.O.D.E

What is the goal of "Yes, 1 Billion Kids Can Code", after all?

"Yes, 1 Billion Kids Can Code" is an initiative started by Kid Entrepreneur Samaira and her 5-year-old brother Aadit. "By the time we go to college, we want to ensure that all 1 billion kids in the world that do not have access to coding tools have already started their path towards coding and computational thinking," says Samaira and Aadit. And that would be by 2030!

How did "Yes, 1 Billion Kids Can Code" start?

There are over 7 billion people in the world. According to the census, 26% of those people are kids age 0-14. That is around 1.9 billion and over 50% of those living below poverty line. That means they may not have access to basic needs like food, shelter, clothing, and more. Let alone tools that help in computational thinking or coding. That is where "Yes, 1 Billion Kids Can Code" comes in!

Okay, give me a break. How are you going to do that, when these kids don't have food to eat and house to live?

Very good question. A lot of amazing philanthropists like Bill and Melinda Gates, Mark and Priscilla Zuckerberg and many others are working towards making this world a better place for all those people in the world who do not have access to basic needs. They are doing much more. But here is what I thought. What if beyond basic needs, these kids start their journey towards the path of coding? After all, coding is the future. If there was a way to gravitate these kids to coding and computational thinking, with their early interest, they could grow into someone who could stand on their own feet. And as one of our president once said - "For kids who want to be the leaders of tomorrow, there is perhaps no skill as important as learning to program. While not every student will become a coder when they grow but a basic coding understanding can make them better thinkers". and that's how "Yes, a billion kids to code" started.

So what is your model to make this happen by 2030?

Well, this is not an easy task. We need donors who could support to provide the tools and organizations in various part of the world that could make good use of these tools.

So how can I support as a DONOR?

This one is easy. If you would like to make a difference in the future life of 1 billion kids, please donate your kits here.

So how can I support as an recipient ORGANIZATION who could make use of these kits?

If you are an organization who could make use of these kits to make a difference in the life of these kids, please send us a note. We will add you to the list of supporting schools. Currently we will be working with the following schools

Mt. Diablo Unified
Oakland Unified
Gilroy Unified
Redwood City Elementary
East Side Union High
San Jose Unified
Mt. Diablo Unified
Franklin-McKinley Elementary
Alum Rock Union Elementary
San Francisco Unified

There are organizations in other states of US and countries internationally that we are engaging with to make the impact.

How do you ensure that the donation is used to make the impact?

CoderBunnyz team would be working to match the donors and recipient, at the same time doing in-person workshops and skype sessions (for remote users) ensuring that the donation you have made is put to the best use. CoderBunnyz kit will start the path and with the support of all of YOU community members, we plan to put more and more tools including robotics, maker kits.

What does the donor get?

You will also be invited to attend skype or in-person sessions of where your donation is making an impact. For non-anonymous donors, CoderBunnyz will also recognize and publish their donations on our channels and website. It would be a great sense of accomplishment by being a part of making a difference in the life of many kids in the US and around the world.

Wow, I am sold, how do I make the difference and donate?

Click to donate, and thank you for your support to the kids who could one day lead a better life due to the donation you made. Thank you for bringing smiles to the world. With a lot of blessings from all of them for you!
